Andre Lee was nominated for Local Entertainer of the Year and Local Male Vocalist of the Year at the Jackson Music Awards and he won both Jackie Awards of July 12, 2010. The awards ceremony was held at the Marriott Hotel on Amite St. in Jackson, MS. at 6 pm. The theme was Remeber the Time. This star studded venue held stars who performed such as Larry Dodson and James Alexander from the BarKays, J Blackfoot, Archie Love, Kevon Edmonds and After 7, Cupid, Lemorris Williams, Eddie Cotton, and more. There were also many many more southern soul artist which were too many to name. It was definitely the place to be. However congratulations to all of the Jackie winners and legends of this night, especially Andre' Lee.

Andre' Lee performed at the Zoo Blue Festival on July 3, 2010. The line up included Noo Noo, Grady Champion, Kenne Wayne, Reggie P, Andre' Lee and Mel Waiters. This show was sponsored by A Few Good Men, Duece McCalister, and Chill Will. Andre' Lee did his thang with his band and show singing cover songs as well as original material. I heard him perform two songs from that new cd "One Night Stand' and "Southern Soul Man" this guy is on his way to the top. He did a great job with those two songs and  he just out did his self.  Andre is a great  Southern Soul Artist you gonna want  to hear when he comes anywhere near.  So check out this southern soul brother 's CD I promise you will not be dissappointed.  P.S. He did vote for  President Barrack Obama

When I found out this artist was with the group “Freedom”, you just do not know how many boxes I went through to find that big black cd with grooves in it (12 inch vinyl) with the song “Come on and dance” and for you old schoolers that was the jam back in 1980/1981. Andre Lee has moved on since his days with “Freedom” and released his fifth cd titled “Straight From The Heart” a collection of songs that will sure make you sing and dance.
Since I have been in Texas, I have come across a lot of different styles of music r&b, rap, hip/hop, pop. Rock and roll, Spanish music, and the newest groove to hit my ear Zydeco, and this southern style of r&b.
For those who like Mel Waiters and classic Marvin Sease, then this cd is for you.
Andre’ sings with heart and soul on the mid-tempo to slow grooves, “Too Late", "Let’s Get Romantic", "I’ll Do Whatever", & "Southern Soul Man”.
On the song “Those Were The Days”, this will bring back memories. Andre’ is talking about cornbread and collard greens, and butterbeans, can’t get any better than that.
The Groove songs are “I Found What I Been Looking For", "Groove On", "Love Will Never Change", "Don’t Believe A Dam Word", & "One Night Stand". And for you steppers, Andre’ gets his stepping groove on with “Gonna Go Stepping”.

Corner Talk: Andre Lee’s One Night Stand has been on the Southern Soul charts for a few months now and is beginning to get some Beach DJ play as well. Andre, one of the new ‘young guns’ in this genre, has a style that has been characterized as sounding similar to the late great Tyrone Davis. This hit song is from his latest album Straight From The Heart on the Cape-Town Records label. Additional strong tracks on the album include Love Will Never Change, Groove On and I’ll Do Whatever……….
